During this exhilarating trip, visitors view three species of dolphins that inhabit the Golfo Dulce. The islands and shallow coral reefs along its north coast are perfect for snorkeling; exotic mollusks, parrot fish, garfish, porgies, pompanos, angelfish, eels, manta rays, and more can all be seen there.
There is a wide variety of seabirds and low-flying tropical birds. In suitable weather we kayak back out on the gulf at night to witness its marvelous glowing phosphorescent plankton.
While exploring the mangroves at high tide, visitors learn how plants and animals flourish in a saltwater swamp, and why this is such an important forest for the region’s ecology. Visitors also view seabirds, orchids, crabs, and exotic snails feeding on mangrove roots.
As a part of the jungle adventure, visitors are shown a number of wild plants, herbs, and edible fruits.
Visitors go fishing and snorkeling in the gulf, and relax while sunbathing and swimming in the warm waters of its pristine beaches.
At the campground, visitors can help pitch tents if they wish, as well as take part in the cooking in order to learn how to prepare local dishes and coconut candy. Watching the sunrise at twilight and socializing around the campfire at the end of the day are some of the engaging and memorable experiences of this adventure.
